Question 1 - In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of a real media product?

Question 2 - How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

Question 3 - What Have You Learned From Your Audience Feedback?

Above is a picture of the audience at the Amber J concert at Shrewsbury Quarry. As you can see the audience is a young audience starting from primary school age to approximately mid thirties. There were families, couples and groups of teenage friends. The age group shown in this picture are predominately people that would be into Social Networking and as seen in this picture, many of the audience have mobile phones out, taking pictures, video's and will no doubt upload these to Facebook, Twitter and other well known Social Networking sites. The support acts took pictures of the audience, and uploaded these pictures to Facebook and Twitter, so that people could tag themselves in these audience pictures and posting these and other comments directly to her fan-base through Facebook. Clearly Social Networking, Facebook in particular, would be a good method of getting feedback.

This is another screenshot of a Amber J's gig. Looking at the venue, it looks like an intimate gig, with fans that are the higher end of the age range. You can also see in the picture that people are using mobile phones and camera's. This allows people to take pictures and upload them onto Social Networking Websites.

I then looked on Amber J's Twitter Page and looked through her followers, I discovered that there was a wide audience range, from people not only living in the United Kingdom. Many of the followers were young, however, there are a few people who follow Amber J on Twitter that are middle aged men and women. Below is a screenshot of some of her Twitter followers. You can tell from their Twitter Icons that many fans are either young, teenage or middle aged.

Above is a screenshot of other Amber J's Twitter followers. These followers look to be from a different country, and not from the United Kingdom. This proves that Amber J is not only making an impression in the United Kingdom, and that she is well known around the world.

Final Music Video

My Music Video on YouTube received 23 views. As I disabled people's comments, I didn't receive any comments on YouTube, so I asked for all comments to be made on Facebook.

I asked some classmates, who weren't on any social networking sites, what they thought of the video and in general the feedback was very positive, however, Michelle said that at the end of my music video, it appeared to tail off and looked as if we were glad it was over.

I also received lots of different feedback on my Final Music Video. I got this feedback by asking people on Facebook what they thought about my music video. Here is the feedback I was given.

I asked this question on our A2 Media Group Facebook Page and got lots of positive feedback from my  friends, who are all aged 17-19. They said it looked fun, and used good effects. However, I received criticism from William, saying that I could have used a better wardrobe.
If I was to re-shoot the video, I would have thought more carefully about the wardrobe, as I have discovered from my feedback, that the image is important and that fans do look to be inspired by the wardrobe choices.

I then added my Final Music Video to Facebook and again received some nice feedback from people aged 40-60, who said the liked the video and said it works really well. Also, another friend said they loved the video and said its very bright and colourful. Although these comments were received from people who could not really be considered as the target audience, you could probably say that they are aware of the forms and conventions of this particular genre of a music video.

Digipak

I had lots of positive reviews on my Digipak. As seen below, many people said it looks awesome, brilliant and very colourful, and several people liked it on Facebook.

The comments I received on my digipak, are from a wide range of people, from people who are 17, to people who are aged 50-60+. Below is a list of people who liked the Digipak.

The age range of the people who liked my Digipak on Facebook is a very wide range, from people who are teenaged, to people who are of the older generation. This shows that my digipak received all kinds of attention. Many of the people who have liked the digipak, have also told me in person that they like my work, and must have taken me a while to create. They like the kaleidoscope effect which runs throughout my music video as well. They also like the typeface I used and think the image works well with the song titles. The also like how I have taken a picture of an eye and used different effects on the eye. All in all, my digipak received very positive feedback.

Website

I asked a few classmates what they thought about my website. I got lots of nice comments about my website. These included comments like, the pictures on the Home Page fit the genre well. Another classmate said the bright colours work well. Another friend said the pictures stand out with the background and the recurring motif of black throughout works well.
Someone else commented on my Merchandise page saying that the thought the Merchandise stood out and they liked the variety of the different items that you could purchase.

Some people did however comment on the white background where the Twitter and Facebook links are situated. People suggested that the white could be changed to pink to carry on the Black and Pink theme. The white stands out too much and pink would work better.
Another person commented on the brown coloured background behind the text on the About Amber J page. They said it doesn't look bright enough for the genre and needs to be changed.

Question 4) How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages.

All the work I produced for my research, planning and production and evaluation work was produced on, published using or linked to my iMac, whether it was hardware, software or internet based.

The starting point for my research was the internet. I used search engines like Google to research, plan making and evaluating my three products, not only to research similar bands and solo artists, but also to research the products that I would make and also to find a digipak template to find various bits of free software.

I researched bands that linked to my genre that I had chosen. Through Google I searched videos to analyse through YouTube, but I also searched for information about the artists (through their own websites, Wikipedia, Play.com etc) the genre, the record companies, information about the trakcs, sales, target audience and so on.

Using mainly YouTube, I analysed videos by Avril Lavigne, P!nk, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and Rihanna. These videos helped to influence the final outcome of my video.

I used Wix to make and build my website for my music artist. I used a fuji finepix digital camera to gather and take some images for my website. To transfer my images I used a cable to plug into the computer an transferred them to my iMac.

I also used photoshop to edit images for my website. I used different effects on Photoshop to make the images look interesting and eye catching. Although I primarily used Photoshop to make my digipak. I used the kaleidoscope effect on photoshop to make some of the effects on my digipak. Also within the making of my digipak, i used DaFontI used DaFont to find a revelant typeface for my digipak as there is a much wider choice on DaFont that there is already installed on the iMac that I used to do my media coursework. DaFont is an easy and free way to download typefaces.

I used Final Cut Pro to make my Music Video, I edited the different shots and tried to make my music video look professional. I added different effects onto my video using final cut pro and also make my own effects using the kaleidoscopic effect.

I also used FaceTime, text messages, emails and calling people to communicate with people. I used FaceTime to communicate with Adam and other friends. I also used text messages to text people and ask if they had some free periods to help me out with filming my music video. I used email to communicate with Dan, my tutor to ask him if his room was free so that I could use my free periods to work on my digipak.

I used a HD camera to film my music video. This was because I wanted my Music Video to be good quality.

I also used a Green Screen as I wanted a Green Screen effect throughout my Music Video.

Facebook and Twitter were also used to ask people for feedback and criticism on my three main products.

I also used Google Docs to make power-points and also store some notes I had taken throughout the process.

I also used Blogger to store some information and to create my blog.

And finally, I also used an Audio Recorder to record my first Evaluation Question.
